Hi everyone,
I joined helium as a way to practice writing and maybe earn a little extra money. I posted 2 articles so far....

the first is about how to choose a dance studio for your child:

The second is about how to make quick, healthy meals your family will love in twenty minutes:

Hello all,

Joined Helium almost a year ago, wrote bits on and off, actually had a payment from them a couple of months ago but interest slowly waned for a while. Seem to be writing at least one article a day now though, and waiting for earnings to pick up again.

Stuff I've wrote in the last week:
[Edit: Bah, I see LJ broke the links. Trying again]

[info]billie0: Hello, new to Helium

Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself. I joined Helium in Dec. of last year and only posted one article. Then I never went back. However, I read a post on LJ from one of my friends and decided to visit again. Now I am really enjoying it. I've only written about 5 articles but I plan to write a lot more.

Anyway, my About me page is here: http://www.helium.com/user/show/38592 and my rss feed can be found here: http://syndicated.livejournal.com/uninvitedwriter/

I won a Marketplace item that I forgot I had entered. $16 is a nice surprise. :)

It finally made me get off my backside and post some more work. I entered another Marketplace item, posted a few articles about online income opportunities and affiliate marketing, and rated a whole bunch of articles about how to earn money online and how to use get paid to click and get paid to take surveys... phew! There really are so many of those schemes out there and I think I have joined about 100 too many of them. At least I have a little bit of understanding these days on what they are really about.

I'm now taking in about 65c a day from my existing articles (not counting the competition prizemoneys, which I just consider a nice bonus). Not too shabby. I would like to get that amount up to a dollar. It's my next goal. Need more articles! :)

I'm loving writing for Helium more each time I look at what I have earned that day. I confess to checking every few hours. I confess to being excited when a few more cents have added onto my totals. I admit to having done the maths on how many articles I would need to have contributed in order to earn a wage just from the advertising income. I was embarrassed about that last one until someone else admitted it in the Helium forums. Looks like I am not the only crazy out there! (The number of articles required, by the way, is HUGE and ridiculous.)

And now for the obligatory linking of my articles. I am, at least, not subjecting you to all of them in one post. Small mercies.

I'm starting to really enjoy this place. I've made more than $85 this month after winning one of the competitions. The last competition I entered didn't go nearly as well but i am still happy to be collecting the coins on all my articles each day.

I have also started a website at http://www.freewebs.com/homecash/ - it is still in its construction stage but I'm pleased with how it is going so far. Eventually I hope it will become a good resource for anyone wanting to work at home and earn money without being stuck trawling through the fake opportunities out there.

Here are some more of my articles if anyone is interested.

This is the first article I wrote for Helium. It has rated as consistently awful! :)

But I kinda like it. I do know what I did wrong in this piece, but since it was my sounding board for understanding the system, I'm not sure I will bother leapfrogging it.

Intro: Emma wasn't even supposed to be in the wedding party. I'd chosen my sister as bridesmaid as soon as Jeff proposed, but by the time the big day rolled around she was only weeks away from giving birth, so Emma graciously stepped into the role.

[info]elizasininen: Welcome from Eliza

I'm hoping this will become a good place to chat about why we love Helium :)

It would also be great to link any non-Helium piece of creative writing that you think is fantastic.

Feel free to paste articles if you wish, but make it inside an LJ CUT if it's more than about ten lines. And feel free to link a similar Helium link at the end of every post - the more cross posts we get the more we all benefit.

Cheers!

Eliza
